I remember my first gaming experience like it was yesterday. When I was 6 years old, I was in the hospital for surgery (I was fine – kid stuff), and when in recovery, my uncle came into the room and asked what the #1 thing I wanted was. I immediately responded with “A NINTENDO”. Lucky me – as soon as I arrived back at home, there was an NES attached to our television! Since then I have been a gamer and will be for the rest of my life. From 2003-2012 I ran a large Counter-Strike community (CS-Purgatory) and competed CS 1.6 Making it to CAL-I. In late 2012 we pivoted to supporting more than CS and formed Full Clip Gaming which then was renamed to DEFCON 1 Gaming. Now I mostly play for fun with friends.

I’ve been playing games since games had single bit color depth and everything had to be plugged in. Hard drive sizes were measured in MB, RAM was measured in KB, and CPUs were measured in MHz. I’ve been working in the technology field in some way since I started working, be that selling electronics, to fixing them, to designing datacenters and multi-million dollar projects. In my free time, I create game mods, website integrations, brew beer, and work with wood. I also speak at tech conferences and local user groups about new and existing technology, especially automation and scripting. I don’t get to game as much as I used to, but I love to play a good survival game with PvP and base building elements.
